Creative Writing Specialization
This Specialization covers elements of three major creative writing genres: short story, narrative essay, and memoir. You will master the techniques that good writers use to compose a bracing story, populated with memorable characters in an interesting setting, written in a fresh descriptive style. You will analyze and constructively evaluate peer writing. In the Capstone, you will draft, rewrite, and complete a substantial original story in the genre of your choosing.
Class sizes and writers workshops are kept small to ensure you receive the individual attention you need to help your writing thrive, whether you take your class in-class or online.
Improve your writing skills in a five-day intensive workshop led by an experienced author.

Beginner writers and those with previous writing experience will hone their skills. Benefit from a series of exercises and selected readings. Get involved in creative writing and critical reading.
